DTF Demigod
The sky was a cool twilight blue over Luizon as a quiet creaking sound could be heard over the lively chatter of the warmly lit tavern in the middle of the forest's capital city. The worn wooden door of the tavern was opening inconspicuously as a short mole man pattered inside, to the notice of nobody. All of the men in the tavern were too busy getting drunk, laughing it up in boisterous conversation, or... overtly displaying affection for one another in public. None of them would notice, or care about such an unassuming figure. The mole was fine with this, as he marched up to the bar, removing his coat, and climbed up onto one of the bar stools that were clearly designed for taller men. "Excuse me barkeeper?" he called out, drawing the barkeeper's attention, "I'm Trevor from the Luizon Press, and I wanted to ask you if you know anything about some rumors that have been going around lately."
"What rumors would those be?" asked the barkeeper in a tone that was naturally gruff, but not unwelcoming.
"It's been going around that a man described as a supernatural demigod has been barhopping in the area for the last few months."
"I've heard that rumor."
"Is there any merit to it?" Trevor returned.
"Possibly. But you know they say the guy doesn't like to bring a lot of attention to himself."
"I'm aware. That's why according to the rumors, he secludes himself in backrooms, only inviting a chosen few at a time to even lay eyes on him. However... would I not be correct in assuming that such an arrangement is only possible with the cooperation of tavern owners?"
"That sounds like a reasonable assumption," the bartender said patiently.
"So then, would you be at liberty to tell me if you do now, or ever have carried out such an arrangement?"
"Look, all we're talkin' about right now are rumors."
"So you haven't ever made such an arrangement, then?"
"I couldn't s-"
"Trevor can come visit," came a mysterious voice echoing through both of their heads, "Let him come to the back."
Trevor's eyes lit up as this strange experience suddenly and unexpectedly turned his otherwise dead end story into a huge lead. The barkeeper simply shrugged and motioned Trevor to a door behind the bar and around the corner, which Trevor wasted no time in approaching. With an almost giddy excitement, he cracked open the door and was met with a brilliant light. Once his eyes adjusted to the full scene in front of him, his expression changed to one of mild confusion, "Who are you...?"
"Just the legendary demigod of your dreams, ready to fuck and to be fucked~" said the lone figure inside the back room in the same voice as that which echoed in Trevor's head earlier. The voice belonged to a figure who was sitting on a wooden bench. Wrapped around the figure's torso weightlessly was some kind of giant, feral, and very much alive serpent whose scales resembled bright red stone covered with dark veins. Behind the figure were displayed two huge feathered wings, each seemingly made of a warm light that completely illuminated the room. And as much as such a figure would seem to fit the description of Trevor's rumored demigod, it didn't quite make sense that all of these features belonged to what appeared to be an average orange fox who was smirking lewdly as he shamelessly displayed his throbbing erection to the other man.
"I'm... sorry I don't understand," Trevor said, still trying to process this strange situation.
"Well I heard you were looking for me. I'm the demigod that's been barhopping lately. I like to invite guys in private to show off for them and maybe play a little naughty with them. It's always a lot of fun~"
"O-oh... Well I didn't really come here for sex. I'm just a reporter..."
"Aww, are you sure? At least don't rule it out. How often does a guy like you get to bang a demigod?~"
"Eheheh... Well... Can I ask you some questions first, if you don't mind?"
"Alright, I don't mind~" the fox said, leaning back and casually stroking his bright red penis without any shame.
"What exactly... are you and how did you come to exist, specifically here in Luizon?" Trevor asked, prepared to write.
"Hmmm, that's a story I don't often tell... Where should I start...? I guess at the beginning of the universe would be appropriate," the fox began.
"Before the universe existed, there were (and still are) immortals a lot like you and me, but infinitely more powerful, and, well, immortal. Like us, they desire to be happy. In their pursuit of happiness, some of them have created countless universes including this one, which they maintain like cages with us, their pets, inside. However other immortals aren't so whimsical. In their boredom, they turned to torturing others for sport to get their entertainment. Imagine being tortured for eternities with no such thing as the escape of death. Because of this atrocity, those immortals who are found to torture other immortals are punished. They are confined by a sort of divine automaton which acts as shackles, controlling their actions and restricting their form, and they are cast into one of the many universes to serve as an eternal guardian to protect the people inside from destroying themselves. When a mortal is identified as a threat, the guardian emerges from distant space and wipes out the threat before returning to its unseen resting place. At least that's how it normally works. In this universe, I am watching over our immortal criminal and guardian. In fact, it's this snake boy here, and this rocky red skin of his, called howlite, is the physical manifestation of the shackles that bind him."
He continued, "Anywho, one day an immortal who was in cooperation with this criminal briefly manifested himself to mortals here. He sabotaged the physical limitations placed upon mortals by granting them magical power that was strong enough to harm even immortals. These were the first wizards in our world. The immortal told the wizards about the universe's guardian, claiming that it would stop them from reaching their true potential. In their desire for power, most of the wizards, led by a great witch attacked the guardian and were easily eliminated, but not before they could damage the shackles. As the shackles began to crumble, the criminal found himself able to exert more will over his own body until he was capable of returning to this planet to wreak destruction. Broken shards of the howlite shackles preceded the criminal, however, and landed on this planet first, and a group of pacifist wizards who had refused to participate in the attack found and studied the howlite to learn what was coming to wipe them out. Once the guardian, which they dubbed the Genoplague, had arrived on the planet, they were prepared to use their magic to repel the beast. They were successful in their defense, but they took a major casualty. The automaton that controls the immortal criminal protects innocent mortals against those deemed to be a threat, and since the latest threat had been the great witch assailant, the criminal was able to wipe out all those who resembled the witch. As a result, all women were destroyed in this universe. Before mortals could go extinct from the inability to reproduce biologically, the remaining wizards researched and invented homogenesis, a way to allow men to reproduce with each other with the assistance of magic. Since the wizards were the only means for people to breed, and those wizards could selectively grant magical power to or withhold it from children, they naturally became the world's most powerful men, leading them to found the world's capital city, Hylark, and govern over all other cities as the Great Wizards' Guild."
"The threat of the Genoplague was not over yet, however. The Great Wizards knew they had only repelled the beast, not eliminated it. So they continued researching the howlite in order to repel it as many times as it would attempt to destroy the world. This is where I finally come in. My name is Fawks. I was born to a single father who disappeared when I was young. I grew up in a farming town called Ryre's Nook in the forest outskirts of Luizon, along with my brother Kali. I always had a simple life until one night when I was napping under the stars, a shard of howlite came crashing down from the sky and pierced me right in the chest! Somehow I barely felt a thing. I couldn't even find a wound. That's when the Great Wizards sent a familiar to retrieve me so that they could remove the howlite from my body and use it in their preparations. It seemed like nothing went smoothly as we traveled from Ryre's Nook to Hylark by foot. I met a few friends along our various necessary detours, including a spiritualist from the jungle's Shrinelands, named Temba whose tribal elder foresaw the dangers of our travels and gave him two bottles of spirit water to bring along our journey. When we finally got to Hylark and the Great Wizards attempted to remove the howlite, somehow without warning, something went wrong, and the separation instantly killed me! But thinking quickly, Temba administered a bottle of spirit water which was able to reconnect my spirit to my body before they were permanently separated, resurrecting me in a way that had never been seen in society until then. Besides resurrecting me, the water had another effect. It caused the howlite to merge with my body, allowing the automaton to take a presence in my mind and body. The automaton, which my friends nicknamed Cosmo, told me that I would need to travel to the past in various places around the world to share energy with my previous incarnations in order to have the power to restore the shackles around the Genoplague. In reality, Cosmo was hiding his true intentions. The real goal was to go on a journey that would allow me to build trust in my friends which would allow the howlite inside me to protect them from any damage the Genoplague could do while they were present for the final confrontation with it. My long journey ended right back where it started. I traveled to the past in Ryre's Nook and stole my own father into the present. This left me fatherless growing up, so that loss and the subsequent gain of having him back in the present gave me and Cosmo the resolve we needed to make our friends, and father, indestructable so we could all finally face the Genoplague."
"When the Genoplague again arrived on this planet, I was able to bait him to the uninhabited half of the planet and goad him into directing all of his power into a single attack against me and my friends alone. They were protected of course, but I, having only a fraction of the howlite, was nowhere near powerful enough to protect myself. The Genoplague's attack inevitably killed me, but that's when Temba remembered that he still had one more bottle of spirit water. With the second bottle administered, not only was I revived, but I as a being was completed. Fawks and Cosmo were no longer two separate minds in one body. They became one divine being (me), with the full power of an independent automaton, and the free will of a mortal. With that new power, I was easily capable of repairing the Genoplague's howlite shackles, fully subduing it and saving the world. You're welcome. Now I have the Genoplague following me around as I go on living as Fawks the demigod, along with my (young and hot) dad, my brother, Kali, and all of my friends including my shark husband, Jakira. And in my free time I like to hang out around Ryre's Nook and Luizon, having fun where I can. Aaand that's the gist of my existence," Fawks smiled.
Trevor sat on the floor, still writing furiously even a while after Fawks had finished his story. "Ssssooo anything else?" Fawks chuckled.
After a moment, Trevor looked up at Fawks curiously, "Only one more question. The rumors all say you're pretty secretive... Why did you reveal all of this to a reporter like me?"
"Oh, well... I guess because everything that's happened so far is intended for a different universe from ours."
"Huh...?"
"It's a demigod thing. Don't worry about it~ Now what are your thoughts on being knotted?~"
I've really been wanting to show off Fawks for a while, because I'm pretty proud of the lore behind him. His character wasn't originally invented to be a super demigod OC whose backstory needed to be justified. He really started out as a normal fox boy, and his status as a demigod came about through years of planning out plot points that naturally led to this.
In fact, this is only the brief summary of most of the story that Fawks was involved with. There's so much more geopolitics in the background about Hylark's relationship with surrounding cities, and how they attempted and failed to maintain their grip on power by futilely restricting the use of unauthorized magic and alternate methods of reproduction. Turns out there are quite a few besides homogenesis, such as a magical "mistake" that created a new biological sex that appears male, but has a kangaroo-like pouch on its belly that grows babies. And Hylark essentially treats these beings as second-class citizens because they undermine its power.
Fawks may be a local legend, but there's still so much interesting stuff happening in his world. Everything is changing, and it makes for some very interesting settings in my opinion.
