Min, the Egyptian God of Fertility

Posted on

I learned about Min, and I felt like spending a little time doodling my interpretation of him.
Min is the god of fertility, also known as Khem. He has an alternate form as Khnum the god of creation.
In his fertility form, his symbols are white bulls, lettuce, and erect penises.
He is known to hold his erect penis in his left hand.
During a pharaoh's coronation, the pharaoh was expected to demonstrate his sexual fertility to Min to ensure the annual flooding of the Nile.
When harvest season was beginning, Min would oversee a festival devoted to him during which people would play games naked for his enjoyment. His favorite game was one where everyone would attempt to reach the tip of his massive "pole".
This is all true by the way. This is a real Egyptian god, and everything I described is believed to be true to some degree.
